Nova Pioneer is looking for a History Teacher to teach Senior Phase (Cambridge IGCSE and AS/A Level) at Midrand Secondary. This role is part of an innovative network of schools developing generations of innovators and leaders.

About the Role
We are looking for an exceptional History Teacher to start in January 2026. Resident teachers lead instruction and planning for subject or grade level classrooms and drive a rigorous, enquiry-based learning environment. They are supported by Deans of Instruction and mentor apprentice teachers.
Key responsibilities
- Design rigorous, enquiry-based lesson plans
- Prepare students to sit IGCSE, AS and A-level exams
- Deliver engaging enquiry-based lessons supported by technology
- Observe, coach and model teaching for new teachers
- Infuse joy and passion for learning into lessons
- Set and communicate rigorous goals and provide student feedback
- Conduct ongoing assessment and use data to adjust instruction
- Attend weekly feedback meetings with Deans and learning designers
- Participate in professional growth opportunities and team meetings
- Communicate regularly with parents
- Contribute to co-curricular programming
- Participate in collaborative teams and committees and fulfill supervision duties
About You
- A Bachelor’s Degree with History as a Major or PGCE is required
- SACE registered
- 2 - 3 years of teaching History experience
- Ability to lead a classroom independently
- Passion for teaching and for student success
- Understanding of enquiry-based, student-centered learning
- Ability to connect with the specific age group
- Team player and strong problem-solving skills
- Adept at using technology for instruction
