School facilitator required for a 13-year-old neurodivergent female in Midrand, Gauteng.

We are seeking a compassionate, patient and experienced candidate to support a 13-year-old neurodivergent girl duringher school day. She is a bright and caring young person who enjoys connecting with others and has always been highly social. She thrives on warm, nurturing relationships and responds particularly well to trusted adults who provide consistency, encouragement and emotional safety. Recently, she has experienced increased anxiety and has been finding academic demands more challenging.

She requires a facilitator who can provide gentle support, helping her to access learning while remaining responsive to her emotional needs. She has also been experiencing ongoing physical discomfort, which has impacted her ability to participate in some of the activities she previously enjoyed.

Main Purpose of the job: The successful candidate will work closely with the learner, her teachers and her multidisciplinary team to implement supportive strategies that enable her to participate meaningfully in the classroom. This role requires a neuro-affirming, low-demand approach, with astrong emphasis on building trust, reducing unnecessary pressure, and fostering confidence and independence.

A suitable candidate will have agenuine passion for supporting neurodivergent learners and will be confident working independently while remaining collaborative with the wider support team.

• Provide one-on-one support throughout the school day.
• Support the learner to access the academic curriculum using appropriate accommodations and strategies.
• Adapt and break down learning tasks where required to reduce overwhelm and promote success.
• Provide emotional co-regulation and reassurance during periods of anxiety or distress.
• Foster independence, confidence andself-advocacy in a supportive and respectful manner.
• Collaborate closely with teachers,parents and the multidisciplinary team.
• Monitor the learner's wellbeing and communicate relevant observations with the support team.
• Build a trusting relationship that promotes emotional safety and a positive school experience.

• Teaching and/or remedial education qualification or relevant experience is essential.
• Experience supporting neurodivergentlearners is highly advantageous.
• Fluent in both English and Afrikaans.
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle.
• Patient, nurturing and emotionally attuned.
• Trustworthy, dependable and professional.
• Able to work independently and use initiative within the school environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to a neuro-affirming, strengths-based and low-demand approach.
• Ability to commit to the role long term.

There will be an opportunity to be trained by the NDC Facilitation Academy when the role commences, and support sessions are provided for one month thereafter, workingin collaboration with the wider multidisciplinary team based at the Neurodiversity Centre.
