Key Responsibilities UAV Operations
- Conduct safe and professional UAV flight operations for demonstrations, testing, training, and operational requirements.
- Perform pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight procedures and inspections.
- Conduct operational risk assessments and ensure compliance with aviation and safety regulations.
- Maintain flight logs, operational records, and equipment documentation.
- Monitor operational and environmental conditions and report technical issues or equipment failures.
- Support the maintenance, preparation, storage, and transportation of UAV equipment.
- Conduct professional UAV product demonstrations for prospective and existing customers.
- Present UAV capabilities, applications, operational benefits, and safety requirements.
- Support customer engagements, exhibitions, conferences, and trade events.
- Work closely with business development and technical teams to deliver effective customer solutions.
- Gather and communicate customer feedback to relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver UAV operator training programmes.
- Conduct both classroom-based and practical flight training.
- Train operators on UAV system operation, safety procedures, mission planning, and emergency protocols.
- Assess trainee competency and provide coaching and ongoing support.
- Prepare training materials, presentations, assessments, and reports.
- Maintain accurate training attendance and competency records.
- Travel extensively throughout Africa and internationally as required.
- Support customer deployments, demonstrations, training programmes, and operational activities.
- Adapt to diverse cultural, geographical, and operational environments.
- Ensure compliance with country-specific aviation, customs, immigration, and security requirements.
- Relevant UAV/Drone Pilot qualification or certification.
- Practical UAV flying experience with professional or commercial UAV systems.
- Experience conducting UAV demonstrations and/or technical training.
- Fluent in English and French (written and spoken).
- Valid passport and willingness to travel extensively.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Strong presentation, communication, and customer engagement skills.
- Portuguese language proficiency.
- Military, defence, security, surveillance, or specialised UAV experience.
- Experience working within African markets.
- Experience training military, law enforcement, security, or commercial operators.
- Formal instructor/trainer qualification.
- Aviation, engineering, or technical qualification.
- Experience with advanced UAV platforms, payload systems, mapping, surveillance, reconnaissance, and inspection applications.
- UAV piloting and flight planning.
- UAV safety, risk management, and compliance.
- Training and facilitation skills.
- Customer engagement and presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Cultural awareness and adaptability.
- Professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure and rapidly changing environments.
