Senior Civil Designer

Job Description

Produce civil (concrete) models and drawings in accordance with accepted engineering practice and company drafting procedures. Work safely and comply with HSE policies, considering the health, safety and welfare of workers, visitors, clients, community and the environment.

• Detailed design and production of civil (concrete & rebar) models and drawings covering all aspects of a plant construction package, in line with relevant standards and project requirements.
• Timely completion of models and drawings to schedule requirements.
• Produce error‑free drawings that meet sound engineering practices.
• Ensure clarity and accuracy of all drawings.
• Apply and adhere to Design Procedures and applicable standards.
• Submit timesheets accurately and on time.
• Control project man‑hour budgets.
• Follow company Standards and Procedures consistently.
• Assist with the training of junior draughtspersons.

• Sound engineering background.
• Diploma in Engineering.

• Minimum of 10 years design draughting experience, including 5 years in mining and minerals processing.
• Familiarity with relevant 2D and 3D CAD software and company Drafting Procedures.
• Proficient use of Revit for concrete & rebar.
• Proficient use of Revit for architectural layouts & details.
• Create high‑quality detail drawings in accordance with drafting standards and a demanding project schedule.
• Broad knowledge of construction and operations.
• Good understanding of technology.
• Experience with process plant design and layout.
• Understanding of other discipline requirements.
• Strong checking skills, able to work unsupervised and focus on task completion.
