Network Engineer

Responsibilities

• Network Design and Implementation:
  Design and implement network solutions to improve efficiency and performance.
• Configuration and Support:
  Install, configure, and support network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Network Maintenance:
  Perform regular maintenance, including updates, patches, and security configurations.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
  Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve outages.
• Security Management:
  Implement and manage network security measures.
• Documentation:
  Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations and changes.
• Collaboration:
  
  Work with network architects and other IT staff to optimize network performance.

• Fortinet
• Huawei Enterprise Networking

• Technical Expertise:
  In-depth knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, routers, and switches.
• Problem-Solving
  
  Skills:
  
  Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.
• Attention to Detail:
  Ensure network reliability and security through meticulous attention to detail.
• Communication
  
  Skills:
  
  Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and explain technical concepts clearly.
• Certifications:
  
  Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+.

• Professional
  
  Experience:
  
  3 – 5 years of experience in network engineering or a related field.

This role will include travelling to sites in and outside South Africa.
