Job: Graduate Engineer

This is a graduate engineering position within WSP Africa's Power & Energy team, based in Midrand, Gauteng.

The graduate will support the design and delivery of electricity transmission and distribution overhead lines, working alongside experienced engineers. The role covers projects from initial feasibility and route studies through detailed engineering design and construction support.

• Assist with the design of overhead transmission and distribution power lines.
• Support feasibility studies, route planning, and detailed engineering designs.
• Perform line profiling, sag-and-tension calculations, clearance assessments, and loading calculations.
• Assist with positioning and design of towers and poles.
• Analyse and detail towers, poles, cross-arms, gantries, stays, anchors, and foundations.
• Coordinate engineering information from survey, geotechnical, environmental, electrical, structural, and civil teams.
• Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, technical reports, specifications, bills of quantities, and schedules.

• A BEng or BSc Engineering degree in:
• Mechanical Engineering
• Civil Engineering
• Degree must be from an ECSA-accredited institution or be an equivalent recognised qualification.
• Be a recent graduate or final-year student who will finish before employment starts.
