Technical Engineer - Solar Structures & Trackers

Lumax Energy is seeking a Technical Engineer – Solar Structures & Trackers to provide technical engineering support across the project lifecycle, from client requirements and tender development through design, manufacturing and project execution.

The role will work closely with clients, engineering, drafting, manufacturing and project teams. The successful candidate must be able to interpret structural and mechanical designs, validate technical documentation and BOQs, identify technical risks and develop practical engineering solutions that can be manufactured and implemented on site.

This is a hands-on engineering position suited to an engineer who understands both design and real-world manufacturing and construction environments.

• Provide technical support for fixed-tilt solar structures and single-axis tracking systems, including review and optimisation of structural and mechanical designs.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and calculations, and identify technical risks, design constraints and discrepancies.
• Evaluate structural and mechanical components and support value-engineering initiatives to improve performance, manufacturability and cost.

• Review and verify Bills of Quantities (BOQs) against engineering drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Validate engineering drawings, technical schedules, specifications and revisions to ensure documentation is accurate, complete and consistent.
• Identify discrepancies between technical documents and ensure engineering requirements are correctly reflected before submission or release.

• Review engineering designs from a manufacturing and fabrication perspective, identifying material, production and manufacturability constraints.
• Provide technical clarification on drawings and engineering requirements and assist in resolving manufacturing-related technical issues.
• Support product development and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and solar mounting-system designs.

• Participate in technical discussions with clients, consultants, EPC contractors and project stakeholders and respond to technical queries.
• Translate client requirements into practical engineering deliverables while clearly communicating technical requirements, limitations and design considerations.
• Provide engineering support during manufacturing, construction and installation, including site investigations and technical inspections where required.

• Support the development and optimisation of Lumax's mounting structures, fixed-tilt systems and single-axis tracking solutions.
• Evaluate alternative materials, components and structural configurations to improve product performance, manufacturability and installation efficiency.
• Support testing, validation and continuous improvement of existing and new products.

• Detail-oriented, particularly when reviewing engineering documentation and BOQs.
