Senior Industrial Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Industrial Engineer to join their dynamic team in Midrand . This role is pivotal in driving operational efficiency and optimizing production processes within a complex manufacturing environment. You will be instrumental in analyzing current systems, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing innovative solutions that enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall quality. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, quality control, and management, to ensure seamless integration of new strategies and technologies.

• Analyze existing production processes, workflows, and plant layouts to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement using lean manufacturing principles.
• Design, develop, and implement new operational strategies, systems, and equipment to enhance productivity, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct time and motion studies, capacity planning, and resource allocation analyses to optimize workflow and maximize output.
• Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure new product introductions meet production targets and quality standards.
• Lead and mentor junior engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence within the engineering department.

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• A Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
• Proven expertise in lean manufacturing methodologies , Six Sigma principles, and process optimization techniques.
• Proficiency with CAD software, simulation tools, and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
