About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with a specialization in avionics systems to join their dynamic team based in Midrand, Gauteng . This critical role involves ensuring the airworthiness and operational efficiency of a diverse fleet of aircraft by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex avionics systems. You will be instrumental in upholding the highest standards of safety and performance within a fast-paced aviation environment, contributing directly to the reliability and success of our client's operations.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of modern aircraft electronics and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspection, and repair of aircraft avionics systems, including navigation, communication, and flight control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex avionics faults using specialized test equipment and diagnostic software.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance directives to ensure compliance with aviation regulations.
  • Collaborate with flight crew and other maintenance personnel to identify and resolve technical issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all maintenance activities, including parts used and time expended, in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in aircraft modification and upgrade projects involving avionics systems integration.
Requirements
  • Qualified as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with a valid EASA Part 66 license or equivalent recognized certification.
  • Demonstrable experience (minimum 5 years) in the maintenance and repair of modern aircraft avionics systems.
  • Proficiency with a wide range of avionics test equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Thorough understanding of aviation regulations (e.g., CASA, FAA, EASA) and safety management systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and precision.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines in a challenging environment.
