About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Solar Energy Systems Engineer to join their dynamic team in Midrand. This pivotal role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing advanced solar energy solutions for a diverse range of clients. • Lead the design and engineering of utility-scale and commercial solar PV projects, including system architecture, component selection, and performance modeling.
• Conduct detailed site assessments, feasibility studies, and energy yield analyses to ensure optimal system performance.
• Oversee the procurement process for solar equipment, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.
• Provide technical expertise and project management support throughout the project lifecycle, from conception to commissioning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, installation crews, and clients, to ensure successful project delivery.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in solar technology, energy storage, and grid integration.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in the design and engineering of solar energy systems.
• Proven experience with solar design software (e.g., PVSyst, Helioscope) and simulation tools.
• In-depth knowledge of solar PV components, inverters, mounting structures, and energy storage systems.
• Strong understanding of South African electrical codes, standards, and grid interconnection requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
