About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Solar Power Systems Engineer to join their dynamic team in Midrand . This pivotal role involves the design, development, and optimization of large-scale solar energy projects, ensuring they meet stringent technical, environmental, and financial targets. You will be instrumental in driving innovation within the renewable energy sector, contributing to sustainable power solutions for the region.

This hybrid position offers a blend of on-site collaboration and remote flexibility, allowing for engagement with project teams and stakeholders while maintaining work-life balance, fostering an environment of creativity and problem-solving.

Lead the conceptualization and detailed design of photovoltaic (PV) power systems, including component selection, system sizing, and energy yield analysis. Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and technical due diligence for potential solar projects. Develop and maintain project documentation, including technical specifications, engineering drawings, and compliance reports. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, procurement specialists, and construction partners, to ensure seamless project execution.

Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineering staff, fostering their professional development and ensuring high-quality engineering output. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in solar technology, energy storage, and grid integration to incorporate cutting-edge solutions into project designs.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the design and engineering of utility-scale solar power projects. Proficiency in solar design software (e.g., PVSyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope) and simulation tools. Deep understanding of renewable energy systems , grid interconnection standards, and relevant industry regulations. Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and deliver results within tight deadlines.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with experience presenting technical information to diverse audiences.
