Field Maintenance Engineer

Our client, a prominent provider of specialized industrial solutions, is seeking a dedicated Field Maintenance Engineer to enhance their technical support capabilities in the Midrand, Gauteng region. This hybrid role requires a blend of on-site presence for hands-on work and remote engagement for reporting and planning. You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of sophisticated machinery utilized by our diverse client base.

• Perform on-site installations, maintenance, and repairs of industrial equipment, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to technical specifications.
• Conduct thorough diagnostics to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective solutions.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
• Provide technical assistance and training to client personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Collaborate with the internal engineering and sales teams to support project requirements and customer inquiries.
• Prepare detailed service reports, including findings, actions taken, and recommendations for future maintenance.
• Manage spare parts inventory for assigned service areas and ensure timely replenishment.
• Stay updated on new technologies and best practices in industrial maintenance and engineering.

• A Bachelor's or National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in field service, maintenance, or engineering roles within an industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical control systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently, balancing on-site and remote tasks.
• Willingness to travel within the Midrand area and occasional travel to other regions as required.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
