Senior Structural Engineer - Construction

• Develop and review structural designs and calculations for various construction projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
• Lead and mentor junior engineering staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
• Conduct site inspections and structural assessments to identify potential issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, specifications, and tender documents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, project managers, and contractors, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Manage project timelines and budgets related to structural engineering aspects.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in structural engineering technologies and methodologies.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary approvals and permits.
• Ensure the structural integrity and safety of all projects undertaken by the company.

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) is mandatory.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in structural engineering, with a strong emphasis on building design and construction.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP
  2000, Etabs, or similar.
• In-depth knowledge of South African National Standards (SANS) and other relevant building codes.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities, with the capacity to effectively manage a team.
• Experience in project management and contract administration is advantageous.
• Must be able to work effectively in a team and independently.
