Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer - Gauteng Region

Our client, a leading engineering consultancy focused on large-scale urban development and infrastructure projects, is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join their dynamic team based in Midrand, Gauteng
. This role is pivotal in designing and overseeing the implementation of critical infrastructure, including roads, drainage systems, water supply, and sanitation networks. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of South African civil engineering standards, local municipal requirements, and best practices in sustainable development. • Lead the design and development of complex civil infrastructure projects, from conceptualization through to construction.
• Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and impact assessments to inform project planning.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and tender documents in accordance with relevant standards.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure successful project delivery.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, urban planners, and environmental consultants.
• Oversee construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to facilitate project progress and approvals.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyses using industry-standard software.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and standards.

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Technologist (Pr Tech Eng).
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in civil infrastructure design and project management.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly in urban environments.
• Proficiency in civil engineering design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Civil Designer, or similar.
• In-depth knowledge of South African National Standards (SANS) and municipal engineering guidelines.
• Strong understanding of project management principles and contract administration.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites within Gauteng
