Senior Structural Engineer; Roads & Highways

We are currently seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team in Midrand, Gauteng . This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the design and execution of critical road and highway infrastructure, contributing significantly to the nation's development.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of structural analysis, design principles, and construction methodologies, coupled with strong leadership capabilities and a commitment to excellence. You will be instrumental in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and longevity of our projects.

• Lead the structural design of various road and highway projects, including bridges, overpasses, retaining walls, and other critical infrastructure elements.
• Perform complex structural analyses using advanced software and methodologies to ensure design integrity and compliance with relevant South African National Standards (SANS) and other regulatory requirements.
• Develop detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications for structural components.
• Review and approve structural designs prepared by junior engineers and external consultants.
• Conduct site visits for progress monitoring, quality control, and to resolve any structural-related issues during the construction phase.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including geotechnical engineers, project managers, and construction crews, to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of engineers and technicians.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
• Manage project timelines and budgets related to structural engineering aspects.

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, with a specialization in Structural Engineering, from a recognized university.
• Professional registration as a Pr.Eng (Professional Engineer) with ECSA is mandatory.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in structural engineering, with a significant focus on road and highway infrastructure projects.
• Proven expertise in structural analysis software such as SAP
  2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, or similar.
• Comprehensive knowledge of South African building codes, SANS standards, and international design codes relevant to bridges and highways.
• Experience in project management and team leadership.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant design and drafting software.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
