Senior Civil Structural Engineer - Infrastructure Projects

Our client, a leading engineering consultancy, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Structural Engineer to join their dynamic team in Midrand, Gauteng . This role is pivotal in managing and executing complex infrastructure projects, ensuring structural integrity, safety, and compliance with all relevant standards and regulations. You will play a key role in the design, analysis, and supervision of various civil engineering structures, contributing significantly to the development of critical infrastructure within the region.

We are looking for a motivated individual who can provide expert technical guidance and lead project teams to successful completion, upholding the highest standards of engineering excellence. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in delivering large-scale projects and possess exceptional problem-solving skills.

Perform detailed structural analysis and design of various civil engineering structures, including bridges, buildings, retaining walls, and water infrastructure, using advanced software like STAAD.Pro, SAP
2000, or similar. Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and prepare technical reports, specifications, and tender documents. Review project designs and proposals to ensure compliance with engineering principles, codes of practice, and client requirements. Supervise construction activities to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to design specifications, providing on-site technical support. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, coordinating effectively with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders.

Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and other consultants to ensure seamless project execution and stakeholder satisfaction.

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university. Professional registration with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng). A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in civil structural engineering, with a strong focus on infrastructure projects. Proven expertise in structural design software (e.g., STAAD.Pro,

SAP
2000, ETABS) and AutoCAD. In-depth knowledge of South African National Standards (SANS) and other relevant building codes and regulations. Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills. Experience in managing project budgets and schedules. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
