Business Control Specialist

Overview

Meet with various stakeholders to confirm risk universe and other areas deemed important; assist and complete risk assessments for each area identified including significant business risk.

• Perform Risk-Based Internal Control reviews across all business units in Africa.
• Report to the Business Control Manager on audit assignments performed by the function, including planned reviews, risk advisory work and any ad-hoc activity as required.
• Compile reports for management outlining control deficiencies and potential remedial action.
• Review policies and procedures, initiate updating of documents including integration of the Internal Control Reference Framework Controls to mitigate risks within a process.
• Provide advice to the business and departments on internal control mechanisms.
• Assist in integrating newly acquired businesses by implementing a sound internal control environment.

• Matric with a Bachelor s degree in accounting, internal audit, finance, or equivalent.
• CIA, or relevant financial qualification, will be advantageous.
• Minimum 2 years work experience.
• Analytical; ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience in audit practices: planning and management, engagement planning and execution, reporting and progress monitoring.
• Strong computer literacy (MS Apps, e.g., Power Apps, Excel, Office).

To collaborate closely with the Business Control Manager to ensure that all Saint-Gobain entities comply with the Internal Control Referencial Frameworks, establishing and maintaining a strong control environment that effectively mitigates major risks across the SSA region.
