Job Purpose:

To take full responsibility for the financial well‑being, operational oversight, and administrative management of the group. The Financial Manager will lead the finance function, support strategic decision‑making, and ensure compliance, profitability, and efficient daily operations.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education (Essential):
  • B.Com Degree or equivalent (minimum 3-year qualification)
Minimum Education (Advantageous):
  • Professional designation (SAIPA, SAICA or similar)
Minimum Applicable

Experience:
  • 8–10 years’ experience in a similar Financial Management role
Required Nature of

Experience:
  • Full financial management function within a group structure
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and year‑end financial statements
  • Budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and risk analysis
  • Inter‑company reconciliations and expense recharges
  • Payroll management (Sage Professional Payroll)
  • Property rental management and lease administration (advantageous)
  • Short‑term rental (STR) and hospitality administration (e.g. Airbnb, Booking platforms)
  • Audit preparation and liaison with internal and external auditors
  • Stakeholder engagement at Director and Shareholder level
  • Operational and administrative management across departments
Skills and Knowledge (Essential):
  • Strong financial acumen with operational mindset
  • Experience with Pastel / Sage One or similar accounting platforms
  • Draft financial statements (Draft Worx or similar)
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English & Afrikaans)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities
  • Professional business etiquette
  • Stress tolerance and ability to work in a high‑pressure environment
  • Hands‑on, proactive approach
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Financial Management & Reporting
  • Full responsibility for the financial health of the group
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and year‑end financial statements
  • Preparation of quarterly board packs
  • Budget preparation and financial forecasting
  • Cash flow management and risk analysis
  • Monthly VAT returns and statutory submissions
  • Monthly bank, general ledger and inter‑company reconciliations
  • Fixed asset register management
  • Forex reconciliations
  • Preparation of audit files and assistance during annual audits
Accounting Operations
  • Processing of invoicing, expenses, cashbooks, supplier and customer transactions
  • Debtors collections and creditors management
  • Monthly payroll processing and staff file administration
  • Monthly commission calculations
  • Accurate journal preparation and ledger uploads
  • Timely monthly system closings
  • Expense analysis and reporting
Operational & Administrative Management
  • Oversee smooth daily business administration
  • Manage property rental operations, facilities and maintenance
  • Administer short‑term letting and hospitality operations
  • Act as primary point of contact for Directors, Shareholders
  • Ensure professional handling of communications (calls, emails, visitors)
Operations & Employee Management
  • Lead and manage the finance and operations team
  • Implement and maintain HR and business processes
  • Drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations and bi‑annual KPA reviews
  • Ensure cohesive teamwork across departments
  • Streamline operational processes and enhance productivity
