Performance Test Engineer

Main Purpose

The purpose of this role is to ensure that business changes and projects are tested efficiently within timescales and to a high quality to ensure that the change delivered meets the non-functional requirements. Doing this by designing, developing, and executing performance tests to ensure that the applications under test meet their performance objective.

• Ability to Create performance testing strategies and plans for load, stress and spike.
• Create and maintain performance test scripts for various teams/projects across a wide technology stack using Load Runner.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and provide suggestions for issues found.
• Create and maintain performance estimates
• Generate reports; analyze test results highlighting key observations to stakeholders.
• Proactive in bringing forward potential application performance risks with and suggest mitigations.
• Understanding of ISEB testing techniques and their practical application.
• Understanding of the roles of change management and business implementation.
• Compliance with the procedures laid down within the QA Department.
• Strong SQL knowledge.

• Analyze root causes of performance issues and provide corrective solutions.
• Generate test summary reports for management review.
• Suggest initiatives to improve testing efficiency.

• Improve quality and efficiency of IT testing.
• Communicate with the development teams regarding the identified bottlenecks and drive to get them resolved.
• Compile and update the list of matters that have to be tested during a test cycle.
• Keep abreast of the latest testing techniques, methodologies and software testing tools by reading, attending seminars and courses and research Evaluate these techniques, methodologies and software tools and implement changes to improve efficiency and quality.
• Analyze trends relating to non-successful testing of changes in all the environments and suggest measures to improve results.
• Design and implement changes to improve the quality of specifications.

• Create and maintain productive relationships with internal and external clients by providing advice and assistance.
• Create understanding of the ‘real’ versus ‘perceived’ need through experience and expertise while complying with company polices legislation and regulations.

• 3 Year IT Degree/Diploma and ISTQB certificate
• 3 years relevant experience of which 2 years must be in a Performance test analyst role
