Network Operations Centre; NOC) Technician

Our client is seeking a vigilant and technically adept Network Operations Centre (NOC) Technician to join their dynamic team in Midrand. In this critical role, you will be at the forefront of monitoring and managing the company's telecommunications network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security. You will work collaboratively within a shift-based environment to respond to incidents, troubleshoot network issues, and implement solutions to maintain service continuity.

• Proactively monitor network performance and availability using advanced monitoring tools.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve network incidents and outages in a timely manner.
• Respond to alerts, elevate issues as needed, and document all troubleshooting steps and resolutions.
• Perform routine network health checks, performance tuning, and system maintenance.
• Collaborate with field technicians and other engineering teams to resolve complex network problems.
• Maintain accurate network documentation and operational procedures.

• Proven experience as a NOC Technician or in a similar network monitoring role.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF), and hardware (routers, switches).
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as Solar Winds, Nagios, or Zabbix.
• Ability to work effectively in a 24/7 shift environment and respond to critical incidents.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Relevant IT or networking certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA) are advantageous.
