Cloud Security Engineer

Our client, a leading financial services technology provider, is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Security Engineer to join their dedicated security team in Midrand, Gauteng, ZA
. This role is crucial for safeguarding our client's cloud infrastructure and sensitive data against evolving cyber threats. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust security solutions across multiple cloud environments. This is an on-site position, offering the opportunity to collaborate directly with a team of security experts and IT professionals. We are looking for an individual with a deep understanding of cloud security principles, a proactive approach to threat detection and mitigation, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of data protection.

You will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with industry regulations and protecting the company's digital assets. This role presents a unique chance to work on critical security challenges within a reputable and secure organization.

• Design, implement, and manage security controls and solutions for cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures for cloud environments.
• Monitor cloud infrastructure for security threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents.
• Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning.
• Implement and manage identity and access management (IAM) solutions.
• Respond to security incidents, conduct forensic analysis, and implement remediation measures.
• Collaborate with Dev Ops and engineering teams to integrate security into the development lifecycle (Dev Sec Ops ).
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and data privacy laws.
• Stay updated on the latest cloud security threats, trends, and best practices.
• Develop and deliver security awareness training to employees.

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong focus on cloud security.
• Proven expertise in securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• In-depth knowledge of security principles, tools, and technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, encryption).
• Experience with identity and access management (IAM) best practices.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
• Understanding of networking protocols and security concepts.
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or AWS Certified Security – Specialty are highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
