We are recruiting on behalf of a client who seeks a highly meticulous and disciplined Junior Procurement Officer to join their Procurement Department. The successful candidate will be based in Gauteng and will be expected to operate at a high-performance level, ensuring that the operational supply chain and procurement ecosystem is process-driven, measurable and highly accountable. Working under the guidance of the Procurement Manager, this role is responsible for providing vital operational support, executing purchasing administrative tasks, coordinating vendor quotes, and ensuring strict adherence to group governance and cost reconciliation workflows.
KeyPerformance Areas & Responsibilities
- Operational Procurement Support:
Execute administrative purchasing processes in strict accordance with corporate policies and ISO frameworks. Assist in compiling supplier quotes and managing Requests for Quotations (RFQs). - Cost & Invoice Reconciliation:
Match incoming supplier invoices precisely against generated purchase orders (POs) and physical delivery notes. Identify, flag and elevate discrepancies to ensure zero financial leakage. - Supplier Coordination:
Serve as a reliable point of contact for external vendors and suppliers, actively tracking orders, expediting delivery timelines and verifying fulfillment metrics. - Governance & Documentation Compliance:
Provide administrative support to the Finance division by ensuring all procurement files, PO registers and regulatory compliance document trail requirements (including POPIA) are flawlessly maintained.
Diploma or relevant qualification in Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance or Business Administration (Mandatory).
ExperienceMust be permanently based in Gauteng and able to operate effectively out of regional facilities (Mandatory).
Minimum 1–3 years of experience operating in a procurement, purchasing or administrative support role (Mandatory).
Hands‑on exposure to RFQ workflows, invoice processing or basic financial administration.
Demonstrated track record of adhering strictly to instructions, rules and structured corporate governance lines.
Technical & Licensing Acumen- Analytical Tools:
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data capturing, sorting, basic reconciliation tracking) and standard business email communication toolsets. - IT Component Familiarity:
Basic conceptual baseline knowledge of IT infrastructure hardware terminology and vendor sourcing landscapes (e.g., procurement exposure relating to connectivity components or firewalls). - Compliance Awareness:
Strong baseline understanding of inventory workflows, purchasing administration controls and general compliance tracking.
