A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Buying Professional, you will manage operational and tactical procurement activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective supply of goods and services while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to support project delivery, optimize procurement costs, and ensure adherence to Siemens Energy procurement policies and governance standards.

Your role will involve supplier management, sourcing, negotiations, purchase order management, and continuous process improvement, contributing to an efficient and transparent supply chain that supports business success.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Manage the end-to-end purchasing process for goods and services in line with business requirements and procurement policies.
  • Review purchase requests to ensure completeness, technical accuracy, and appropriate lead times.
  • Identify sourcing opportunities that create value for Siemens Energy.
  • Select and evaluate suppliers in accordance with Siemens Energy Supplier Selection Guidelines.
  • Support supplier qualification, evaluation, development, classification, and performance management activities.
  • Develop and execute RFQs using Siemens Energy procurement platforms, including SAP Ariba and Siemens Energy Exchange.
  • Coordinate cross-functional RFQ evaluations, incorporating commercial, financial, legal, and technical assessments.
  • Prepare procurement evaluation reports and present recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Identify procurement risks, including foreign exchange exposure, hedging requirements, contractual risks, and performance guarantees.
  • Create and manage Purchase Orders within SAP.
  • Conduct supplier negotiations to optimize pricing, commercial terms, and overall value.
  • Monitor supplier performance, contract execution, delivery schedules, and issue resolution.
  • Manage contract modifications, delivery expediting, and supplier communications.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships through regular engagement and supplier visits.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with governance requirements, procurement policies, ethical standards, and B-BBEE requirements.
  • Support supplier development initiatives and drive digitalization to improve procurement efficiency.
  • Track procurement KPIs and continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization.
  • What You Bring

    Education

  • Diploma in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • CIPS certification is considered an advantage.
  • Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of procurement experience.
  • Proven procurement experience within engineering, industrial services, manufacturing, or project-based environments.
  • Experience managing operational and tactical purchasing activities.
  • Experience working with supplier management and sourcing processes.
  • Exposure to contract administration and procurement negotiations.
  • Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of procurement principles and purchasing best practices.
  • Experience with SAP and eProcurement platforms, including SAP Ariba.
  • Knowledge of RFQ management and supplier evaluation processes.
  • Understanding of procurement governance and compliance.
  • Familiarity with foreign exchange considerations and hedging applications.
  • Strong analytical and cost analysis capabilities.
  • Good digital literacy and proficiency with procurement systems.
