We are seeking a Regional Trade / SADC Specialist to provide specialist insight into regional trade, cross-border logistics and the movement of goods across Southern Africa.
The successful candidate will assess how regional trade patterns, trade corridors, border processes and economic relationships influence logistics infrastructure requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse regional trade flows and economic activity across the SADC region.
- Assess cross-border freight and logistics requirements.
- Analyse trade corridors and regional supply chains.
- Identify trade trends, constraints and opportunities affecting logistics infrastructure.
- Assess the impact of cross-border regulations and trade processes on freight movements.
- Provide regional trade inputs into infrastructure feasibility studies and business cases.
- Engage with relevant government, trade, logistics and industry stakeholders.
- Develop recommendations to support improved regional freight connectivity.
- Degree in Economics, Trade Development Economics or a related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience.
- Strong experience in regional trade and economic analysis.
- Proven experience with cross-border logistics.
- Strong understanding of SADC trade and freight corridors.
- Knowledge of regional supply chains, trade policies and cross-border processes.
- Strong analytical, research and stakeholder engagement skills.
