Position: Fire Detection Commissioner (SAQCC Registered)

Key Responsibilities

  • Commission, service, maintain, and troubleshoot fire detection systems.
  • Program and configure fire detection control panels.
  • Conduct inspections, testing, and fault finding on fire detection and sprinkler systems.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable SANS standards and industry regulations.
  • Supervise and mentor assistant technicians on site.
  • Conduct client site surveys and assessments.
  • Prepare quotations based on site requirements.
  • Manage projects from planning through to successful completion.
  • Complete technical reports and project documentation accurately.
  • Travel to client sites as required.
  • Work after hours or on standby when operational requirements demand.

    • Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Valid South African driver's licence.
  • Current SAQCC Fire Detection registration.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working with fire detection and sprinkler systems.
  • Previous experience programming fire detection control panels.
  • Previous pipe fitting experience is essential.
  • Good understanding of applicable SANS codes and standards.
  • Ability to conduct site surveys and prepare quotations.
  • Strong project coordination and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Target-driven with excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Good planning and organisational abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    • Remuneration & Benefits

  • Basic salary of R10,000 – R12,500 per month
    , negotiable based on SAQCC registration level, qualifications, and experience.
