Production Manager

Production planning and delivery
- Compile weekly production plans in accordance with customer requirements
- Plan, coordinate and supervise all production activities to meet output and quality targets
- Approve production instructions and ensure their strict implementation
- Ensure that products are manufactured, filled and stored as per the respective documentation
- Monitor raw material usage and coordinate with procurement to maintain adequate stock levels
- Ensure strict adherence to GMP, ISO and SAHPRA regulatory requirements
- Ensure that the production records are evaluated and signed off by an authorised person
- Ensure proper retention of records
- Maintain quarantine area effectively
- Oversee the inspection, investigation and taking of samples to monitor/ evaluate factors which may affect product quality
- Monitor and control the manufacturing environment
- Ensure routine maintenance and inspections on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Oversee commissioning and decommissioning of equipment
- Keep accurate records of monitoring period for new equipment
- Enforce health and safety protocols and conduct regular audits and risk assessments, inclusive of checking status of premises and equipment
- Maintain plant hygiene / cleanliness
- Lead and develop production staff, ensuring proper training and performance management
- The Production Manager must ensure the continuing suitability and efficiency of the Quality System and all GMP compliances.
- Ensure continuity in operations
- The Production Manager must participate in management reviews regarding effective implementation, monitoring and maintenance of the Quality System.
- The monitoring and control of the manufacturing environment.
- A relevant or aligned Bachelor’s degree
- 6 - 8 years’ experience in the health/pharmaceutical industry in a production and manufacturing facility with management experience

- Strategic and Operational Management
- Report on performance by tracking business performance against targets, identifying progress and areas of concern, identifying and implementing improvement measures, and drafting reports
