Tavhara is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Factory Operations & Quality Coordinator to support factory administration, quality control processes, production coordination, and Health & Safety compliance. This role combines operational administration with quality assurance responsibilities, ensuring efficient factory workflow, accurate documentation, and adherence to company and customer quality standards

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities Factory Administration & Operations
  • Record and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Coordinate and manage factory administrative functions and requirements.
  • Process and maintain factory documentation, including FMRs, FRVs, and job files.
  • Compile and distribute factory progress reports.
  • Assist with job costing activities when required.
  • Prepare and submit overtime requests for approval.
  • Maintain and update factory job boards to reflect production status.
  • Ensure all jobs entering the factory have the required documentation before work commences.
  • Schedule and coordinate machinery servicing, maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Provide administrative support to factory management and operational teams.
Quality Control & Inspection
  • Conduct inspections of incoming, in-process, and completed materials to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and coating requirements.
  • Facilitate pre-inspections before items are sent for galvanizing, powder coating, or painting.
  • Inspect workmanship and product quality on a sample basis.
  • Verify incoming material certifications and documentation.
  • Identify and isolate non-conforming materials and products where possible.
  • Approve and coordinate the handover of inspected products to clients.
  • Prepare inspection reports and maintain quality records.
  • Monitor customer complaints and assist with corrective actions.
Logistics & Procurement Support
  • Coordinate the movement of galvanized and manufactured materials to and from suppliers and job sites.
  • Assist the Procurement Department with ordering factory consumables and supplies.
  • Verify deliveries for quantity and quality upon receipt.
  • Maintain records of materials dispatched and received.
  • Liaise with suppliers, galvanize rs, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and progress updates.
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Perform SHE Representative duties and conduct routine factory inspections.
  • Monitor PPE compliance and adherence to safety procedures.
  • Assist with Health & Safety regulations, protocols, and ISO-related documentation.
  • Report unsafe conditions and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Matric (Grade 12).
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a manufacturing, factory operations, quality control, or related environment.
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Solid understanding of quality control principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in steel, galvanizing, coating, fabrication, or related industries will be advantageous.
  • Coating Inspector Level 2 Certification will be advantageous.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Good negotiation and coordination abilities.
  • Problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Authority & Accountability

The successful candidate will have the authority to:

  • Reject materials, products, or components that do not meet specification requirements.
  • Escalate non-conformances and process deviations.
  • Recommend and monitor corrective actions to maintain quality and operational standards.
