** Midrand, Gauteng, ZA**. This senior role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of aircraft inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, safety protocols, and company policies. The Chief Aircraft Inspector will lead a team of inspectors, manage inspection schedules, and ensure the airworthiness and structural integrity of all aircraft undergoing maintenance. A strong background in aircraft maintenance, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent leadership skills are essential for success in this critical position.

You will be a key figure in maintaining the safety and operational readiness of aircraft for our client's diverse clientele, working within a rigorous quality assurance framework.

• Supervise and manage the aircraft inspection department, including scheduling and workload distribution.
• Ensure all aircraft inspections are conducted in accordance with approved data, regulatory requirements, and company standards.
• Develop, implement, and maintain inspection procedures and quality control programs.
• Review and approve all inspection documentation and records.
• Perform final inspections on completed maintenance work before aircraft release.
• Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with quality management systems.
• Investigate discrepancies and non-compliance issues, implementing corrective actions.
• Train and mentor inspection personnel, ensuring competency and adherence to standards.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and customers regarding inspection matters.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of aviation regulations and industry best practices.

• A valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) license or equivalent aviation qualification.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, with a significant portion in inspection or quality assurance roles.
• Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership position within an aviation maintenance environment.
• Extensive knowledge of aviation regulations (e.g., SA-CARs, EASA, FAA).
• Strong understanding of aircraft structures, systems, and components.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical manuals, specifications, and drawings.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.
