About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Pharmaceutical Researcher to join their dynamic R&D team in Midrand . You will contribute significantly to the drug discovery pipeline, from initial target identification through to preclinical development, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and clinicians.

• Lead and execute complex research projects focused on the discovery of new drug candidates.
• Design and conduct in vitro and in vivo experiments to evaluate the efficacy and safety of potential therapeutics.
• Analyze and interpret experimental data, generating comprehensive reports and presentations for scientific and management review.
• Collaborate closely with medicinal chemists, pharmacologists, and formulation scientists to optimize lead compounds.
• Stay abreast of the latest scientific literature, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements in pharmaceutical research.
• Mentor junior researchers and contribute to the development of research strategies and protocols.

• PhD in Pharmacology, Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related life science field.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry research experience in drug discovery.
• Proven track record of successfully managing research projects and delivering key milestones.
• Extensive experience with various biological assays, molecular biology techniques, and data analysis software.
• Strong understanding of drug development processes and regulatory pathways.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to publish research findings.
