Summary:
The outbound supervisor will manage the day‑to‑day fulfilment, dispatch and delivery of goods. They will oversee warehouse workflows—including order picking, packing and handover to third‑party logistics—to ensure shipments reach customers accurately, safely and on schedule. They also will lead team performance, enforce safety compliance and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently met.
- Coordinate daily outbound activities from order release to dispatch.
- Supervise picking, staging and packing processes to ensure orders are ready before prescribed cut‑off times.
- Ensure 100% inventory accuracy and proper handling of all outgoing consignments.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols, SOPs and quality control measures.
- Oversee, train and manage the performance of warehouse associates, pickers, packers, or outbound sales team members.
- Conduct performance evaluations, handle scheduling and coach staff on reaching daily and weekly targets.
- Foster a positive, team‑oriented work environment that promotes safety and continual professional development.
- Act as the primary liaison between the outbound department, inbound, transport/logistics, and sales.
- Generate daily, weekly and monthly performance and shipping reports.
- Investigate customer abnormalities or complaints and execute corrective actions.
- Enforce SOPs, QA guidelines and health and safety (OHASA) regulations on the warehouse floor.
- Protect assets.
- Ensure PPE and hazard control.
- Conduct and supervise morning cycle counting.
- Maintain housekeeping (5S).
- Maintain reporting trackers.
- Open and close facility.
- Manage 3PL onsite personnel.
- Administration duties.
- Leadership & Delegation: ability to mentor staff, assign tasks and meet team goals.
- Conflict Resolution: navigating and mediating team disputes effectively.
- Communication: clear, active listening and articulate instructions.
- Compliance Management: ensuring adherence to internal policies and SLA.
- Typically 2 to 3 years in a warehouse, supply chain, warehouse distribution.
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and data analytics.
- Exceptional organizational abilities, conflict resolution and capacity to work in high‑pressure environments.
- Dynamics Nav 2018 experience (advantage).
- Microsoft Business Central (advantage).
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business management, logistics or supply chain management.
