Job Description & How to Apply Below
Our client is based in Midrand is looking for an Ecommerce operations assistant. Ecommerce Operations Assistant to work directly under and alongside our E-Commerce Operations Manager as their operational right hand. This is a hands-on, operations-focused warehouse and fulfilment role (order dispatch, picking and packing, stock control and quality control) rather than a customer-support role. You’ll help keep the online store’s day-to-day operation running accurately and on time, and you’ll be expected to understand the wider e-commerce operation the Manager runs, even where you don’t perform all of it yourself.
What you’ll do
Order fulfilment & dispatch
  • Expedite paid orders through the fulfilment systems (Shopify, Posworx, Bob Go, Pargo)
  • Dispatch parcels with couriers and manage courier hand-offs (Bob Go, Pargo)
  • Pick and pack customer orders accurately, using appropriate packaging, and support the picking/packing team when needed
  • Identify and resolve operational problem orders — out-of-stock items, mismatched or missing SKUs, address/dispatch errors, and orders held up in the pipeline — coordinating with the Manager and warehouse team to clear blockages
Stock & inventory control
  • Receive stock deliveries, check against purchase orders, assist with inventory capture and report discrepancies
  • Unpack internal retail transfers and ensure stock is sorted, counted and correctly stored
  • Perform cycle counts and participate in scheduled stock takes, reconciling variances proactively
  • Maintain the stock management process — correct storage locations, a clean and organised area, and picking stock for the Manager on request
  • Label, barcode and warehouse stock, and conduct regular walkthroughs to ensure stock is correctly placed
Quality, performance & backup
  • Quality-control stock both for dispatch (checking orders before waybills print) and on receipt (against documentation)
  • Support the Manager in monitoring whether the online store is meeting its performance objectives
  • Serve as trained backup for reverse logistics — fully competent to process returns, refunds and exchanges on the relevant systems and step in when required (owned day-to-day by the Customer Experience & Community Coordinator)
What we’re looking for
  • Quality orientation: checks work carefully to meet defined standards
  • Planning and organising : manages own workload against daily fulfilment deadlines
