Our client, a leading player in the Logistics & Warehousing sector, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee their key facility in Midrand, Gauteng . This pivotal role involves leading a team, optimizing daily operations, and ensuring the efficient flow of goods from receipt to dispatch. You will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, implementing best practices, and maintaining high standards of safety and productivity within a fast-paced warehouse environment.
This is a hands-on management position for an individual passionate about supply chain efficiency and team leadership.
- Manage all day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, warehousing, inventory management, and dispatch.
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse staff to achieve performance targets and maintain high morale.
- Implement and enforce strict health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Optimize warehouse layout, workflows, and equipment utilization to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconciliations to maintain accurate stock levels and minimize discrepancies.
- Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders and manage stock levels effectively.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in a similar Warehouse Management role within the logistics industry.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing teams of 20 or more personnel.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles.
- Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations specific to warehousing operations.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
- A degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is advantageous.
