Video Production, Digital Media & Production
The Social Media Videographer owns mophie's social-first video output end to end — concept, capture, edit, publish and iterate. This role shoots product and lifestyle content in-studio and on location, cuts vertical video for Tik Tok, Instagram Reels and You Tube Shorts, and works from platform performance data rather than a fixed shot list. The role also serves as second camera on Tier 1 campaign shoots led by the Senior Video Producer.
The ideal candidate is a creator first and an operator second: fluent in what is working on each platform right now, fast enough to turn a trend around inside its window, and self-sufficient from idea to posted asset without heavy oversight.
- Shoot product and lifestyle video in-studio and on location, solo and on small crews
- Edit social-first vertical video for Tik Tok, Instagram Reels and You Tube Shorts — raw capture through final delivery
- Operate camera, lighting and audio on solo and small-crew shoots; set up and strike studio lighting, grip and set
- Serve as second camera / camera operator on Tier 1 campaign shoots
- Cut multiple hooks, lengths and aspect ratios from a single shoot for testing across placements
- Shoot and edit lo-fi, creator-style content where the polished version would underperform
- Own the social content calendar day to day: pitch, batch, schedule and publish against it
- Source trends, sounds and formats weekly, and flag which ones mophie should move on
- Write captions, hooks, on-screen text and hashtags fitted to each platform
- Read performance in native analytics and adjust the next round of content to what the data shows
- Support community management: surface comment themes, reply-worthy moments and content requests back to the team
- Manage media end to end: ingest, back up, organize and archive footage to team standards
- Maintain consistent framing, color and pacing across all delivered content
- Repurpose Tier 1 campaign footage into social cutdowns
- Maintain camera and studio equipment; flag repair and replacement needs
- Contribute ideas in content planning, shot listing and batch shoot prep
- 2–4 years producing and editing video for brand or creator social channels
- Reel or portfolio of social-first vertical work, with performance numbers attached to at least some of it
- Track record of owning content from idea through posted asset, not just the edit
- Strong fundamentals in camera operation (mirrorless or cinema bodies), lighting and audio
- Comfortable with gimbal work — stabilized movement, tracking and walk-and-talk shots
- Confident shooting on phone when the format calls for it, and able to make it look intentional
- On-camera presence or comfort directing non-actors and internal talent
- Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve; working knowledge of After Effects
- Cap Cut or an equivalent fast-turn mobile and desktop editor
- Native platform editors and publishing tools across Tik Tok, Instagram and You Tube
- A social scheduling and analytics platform (Later, Sprout Social, Dash Hudson or similar)
Baseline working fluency is expected. We are not looking for an AI specialist — we are looking for someone who already uses these tools to move faster and knows where they don't belong.
- Comfortable using AI in a normal production workflow: transcription and auto-captioning, generative fill and object removal, background cleanup, upscaling, rough-cut and b-roll assistance
- Able to write clear prompts and iterate toward a usable result rather than accepting the first output
- Uses AI for supporting work — caption drafts, hook and headline variations, concept and shot list brainstorming — while keeping final creative judgment their own
- Understands the limits: no fabricated product imagery,…
