We are seeking a Chief Technologist – Biosolids to lead and guide Carollo’s biosolids-related work and advance biosolids-focused planning, design, and implementation efforts relative to winning new projects, project delivery, efficiency, quality management, internal/external visibility, and talent development.

Responsibilities

General

  • Work with Carollo’s Wastewater Technical Practice Team (Wastewater Practice Director, Liquid Process Technology Lead, Chief Engineer-Wastewater, Innovation Team members, Practice Operations Team members, Subject Matter Expert teams, Wastewater Fellows, and Regional Wastewater Leads) to advance biosolids-focused planning, design, and implementation efforts relative to winning new projects, project delivery, efficiency, quality management, internal/external visibility, and talent development.
  • Work within Carollo’s client service management and business development systems to assist client service and business development managers pursue biosolids-related projects in all regions where Carollo works.
  • Maintain superior and detailed technical knowledge of current state of the biosolids industry, trends, regulations, equipment, innovations, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Remain prepared to share technical knowledge of current state of the biosolids industry, trends, regulations, equipment, innovations, risks, and mitigation strategies with any and all Carollo employees, and train biosolids-focused staff on these topics to develop the next generation of biosolids leaders at Carollo.
  • Answer questions, provide technical knowledge and guidance, and review information for technical accuracy related to biosolids processing when asked or requested. Train biosolids-focused staff on these topics to develop the next generation of biosolids leaders at Carollo.
  • Collaborate with members of other technical practices, including but not limited to the Private Sector Group, Design Build, Resilience and Sustainability, Carollo Research Group, Utility Advisory Services, and Construction Management and Operations, as necessary and as warranted for biosolids-related projects and business development.
  • Manage and represent biosolids-focused staff within firm efforts, including but not limited to staff development, training, and advancement opportunities.
  • Represent Carollo within industry by preparing abstracts for national conferences and participating in national professional organizations and conferences in conformance with Carollo’s conference-related policies.

Project Development and Execution

  • On strategic and complex biosolids-related projects, engage directly with delivery team throughout project life cycle, including pursuit, proposal, scope/fee/schedule development, team formation, early concept development, solution selection, project design and execution, checking of calculations and deliverables, and risk mitigation.
  • When requested on non-strategic and simpler biosolids-related projects, assist client service managers or project managers in review and/or development of project scopes of service and associated fees and schedules for biosolids-related projects or project elements.
  • When requested on non-strategic and simpler biosolids-related projects, assist client service managers or project managers identify suitable area or task leads for biosolids-related projects or project elements.
