Long-term contract: $50-$65 per hour
The Project Manager supports the Senior Project Manager in driving the successful conversion of two bank affiliates applications, platforms, and operational processes. This role focuses on coordinating assigned work streams, facilitating meetings, tracking progress, managing risks/issues, maintaining governance, and ensuring financial and schedule discipline. The position plays a key part in delivering this enterprise-wide, high-visibility program on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
RequiredSkills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Project Manager managing complex, enterprise-wide projects (preferably in banking, financial services, or large-scale system conversions/migrations)
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and tools (MS Project, Jira, Clarity, or similar)
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain integrated project schedules, track milestones, dependencies, and critical paths
- Experience managing project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking
- Expertise in risk and issue management, including identification, documentation, mitigation planning, and escalation
- Excellent facilitation and meeting management skills (stand-ups, working sessions, cross-functional coordination)
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across business, technical, and executive audiences
- Proficiency in producing clear status reports, executive summaries, and governance documentation
- Solid grasp of change control, scope management, and governance/compliance requirements in a regulated environment
- Prior experience with bank conversions, mergers, or core system integrations
- Banking experience
- PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent certification
- Experience with mock conversion planning, cutover execution, and post-conversion stabilization
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Excel (financial modeling), and collaboration tools (Confluence, SharePoint, Teams)
- Knowledge of audit-ready documentation standards and regulatory requirements in financial services
- Ability to work effectively with internal departments and external vendors simultaneously
- Support assigned work streams, ensuring progress aligns with the overall project plan and objectives
- Facilitate stand-ups, working sessions, and cross-functional meetings to drive execution and resolve blockers
- Collaborate with other PMs and leads to manage cross-workstream dependencies, especially during mock conversions and cutover planning
- Monitor milestones, dependencies, and deliverables; update the integrated project schedule and elevate slippage or constraints
- Maintain action item trackers, workstream-specific documentation, and governance artifacts
- Contribute to weekly status reports and executive summaries with clear accomplishments, risks, and next steps
- Identify risks and issues in assigned areas, document “if/then” scenarios, and drive mitigation plans with stakeholders
- Act as liaison between business units, technical teams, and vendors to keep stakeholders informed and aligned
- Assist with change control, scope management, and adherence to governance protocols
- Ensure documentation remains audit-ready and compliant with internal standards
