POSITION DESCRIPTION
This isn’t your typical 9‑to‑5 job. Utah Gold Buyers is looking for a Counter Specialist / Precious Metals Buyer / What Not Host to join our team in a fast‑moving, hands‑on environment.
Responsibilities- Front Counter & Precious Metals Buying
- Greet and assist customers professionally
- Evaluate gold, silver, coins, bullion, and jewelry
- Test metals using XRF, acids, magnets, and scales
- Identify and price U.S. coins, world coins, and bullion
- Follow store pricing guidelines to prevent errors and losses
- What Not Hosting (3-ish Days per Week)
- Serve as the on‑air voice/personality for Utah Gold Buyers
- Host live shows, present items, answer questions
- Prepare trays, photograph and describe items before each show
- Maintain a confident, energetic presence during live auctions
- Package, ship, and complete post‑show tasks
- Operational Support
- Tag and log inventory
- Assist with displays and organization
- Maintain accurate records and follow loss‑prevention procedures
- Communicate with the owner and team throughout the day
- Required:
- Must be 100% honest, trustworthy, and honorable
- Must be able to pass a federal background check
- Must be dependable, punctual, and consistent
- Solid working knowledge of U.S. coins, gold, silver, and bullion
- Comfortable speaking on camera and hosting live shows
- Accurate with cash, payouts, and high‑value merchandise
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Experience evaluating or testing precious metals
- Experience on What Not or other live‑selling platforms (Helpful)
- Prior work in a coin shop, jewelry store, pawn shop, or bullion business (preferred)
- Basic computer skills a must - savvy computer skills a plus
- Full‑time position, Monday–Friday and at least one (1) Saturday per month
- Approximately three days per week dedicated to What Not hosting
- Pay based on experience and knowledge
