Responsible for executing the Asset Condition Monitoring (ACM) Program at assigned OG&E Power Supply facilities, with a primary focus on vibration monitoring, diagnostics, and equipment balancing of rigid and flexible rotor assets. This role utilizes asset configuration data, operating context, and process and condition monitoring information to identify, troubleshoot, and diagnose complex vibration issues on critical equipment. Additional responsibilities may include data collection and analysis, thermography surveys, oil sample collection and analysis, and static and dynamic motor circuit evaluation.
The position collaborates closely with ACM Technicians, Reliability Engineers, and Operations and Maintenance Personnel.
- General responsibilities with standardized processes. Works under limited supervision. Resolves routine questions and problems. Refers the more complex issues to higher levels. Follows established procedures to accomplish requirements of job. Some latitude for deviation.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, diagnose, and recommend corrective actions for vibration-related issues on critical plant assets, including gas and steam turbines, generators, multi-stage high-pressure pumps, and large centrifugal and axial fans.
- Manage field balancing of gas and steam turbines and generators, with support from experienced ACM Engineers or external vendors.
- Perform single- and dual-plane balancing of rotating equipment.
- Operate and program vibration data analyzers in accordance with best practices to ensure accurate diagnostics.
- Independently resolve System 1 and instrumentation-related issues.
- Conduct modal and/or operational deflection shape (ODS) analyses to identify and correct resonance conditions.
- Perform cross-channel phase analysis and other advanced vibration analysis techniques.
- Support ACM Program success through route-based vibration collection, ultrasonic analysis, infrared thermography surveys, and motor testing as needed.
- Ensure data integrity and reliability by performing instrumentation calibrations and resolving field instrumentation issues during plant outages.
- Manage and coordinate ACM-related projects.
- Support Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and implement corrective actions identified for the ACM group.
- Identify and evaluate facility assets for inclusion in the ACM Program. Recommend monitoring technologies and intervals based on asset criticality and potential failure modes.
- Develop and present technical reports and presentations tailored to various audiences, including staff, management, and external stakeholders.
- Promote and adhere to company safety programs and initiatives by following all EHS and operating procedures and complying with established design standards.
- Develop, review and revise standard operating procedures and instructions for the ACM Program.
- Manage vibration-related software at assigned sites, ensuring correct versions, firmware, and bootloaders are maintained.

- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or PE and 2 years directly related engineering experience (which may include non-Engineer exp such as Engineering Internship, Design, Drafting, and Engineering Technician exp. This type of exp will be counted at half rate) Or
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology and 4 years directly related experience (at least 2 years as an Engineer and a maximum of 2 years related experience which may include non-Engineer experience such as Engineering Internship, Design, Drafting, and Engineering Technician experience. This type of experience will be counted at half rate.)
- ISO 18436 Category II Certified Vibration Analyst Certification.
- ASNT Level I Certification in Ultrasonic Analysis or IR Thermography.
- MLA Level I Certification.
