Communication Specialist I - Dispatcher - 911 Operator at City of Midwest City
. The incumbent receives, analyzes, and dispatches messages to radio-equipped units of Police, Fire & Ambulance depts., and monitors burglar & fire alarms. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with prior experience in operation of a two-way radio and a computer terminal; OLETS certification preferred. Must pass a data entry test (minimum 5500 keystrokes/hr) and undergo an in-depth background check, polygraph, drug screen, and hearing test.
This position is designated as safety/security sensitive and is subject to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion and random drug and alcohol screening. Starting salary: $23.58–$24.97/hr applications may be submitted online; a completed City of Midwest City employment application must be submitted to be considered.
