Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Oklahoma City South is a 36-bed rehabilitation hospital located at 7900 Mid America Blvd. We provide care for patients 18 and over recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions. Patients receive 3 hours of Therapy every 5 out of 7 days they are at our facility.
We aim to provide the most optimal setting for rehabilitation and recovery. To achieve this goal, we offer the following amenities:
- 41,000 square feet of a modern, naturally sunlit environment to drastically enhance our patients, families, and staff experience.
- 36 private rooms.
- Large modern equipped Therapy Gyms including an EKSO Skeleton .
- A complete pharmacy and in-house dialysis capabilities.
- A retrofitted “Smart Car” (real car) for mobility therapy.
- A large therapy courtyard with multiple therapy options in a park-like setting.
- A furnished Assisted Daily Living apartment with a fully functioning kitchen and bath.
- A large dining hall with buffet line and outdoor patio for patients, physicians, co-workers, and family to enjoy.

Under the general supervision of an licensed Occupational Therapist and according to standards of treatment, you will assist with objective assessments as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for patients of all age ranges, according to departmental policies and procedures. Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
- Assist with initial assessment on each patient upon receiving direction from OT/R/L and according to departmental policies and procedures.
- Document the course of patient care including progress notes and the continuing need for treatment according to departmental policy.
- Administer appropriate modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures according to departmental policies and procedures on standards of treatment care.
- Maintain progress notes and departmental records on each patient according to departmental policies regarding documentation and charges.
- Participate in promoting education within the department.
- Demonstrate knowledge of special needs and behaviors of specific age groups to include neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
- Perform miscellaneous job duties observed as directed by the Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.
- Education:
Must be a graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. - Licensure:
Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible for licensure in state of practice. - Experience:
One year experience is preferred but will consider new graduates. - Certifications:
BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.
