The City of Midwest City is accepting applications for a Systems Administrator in the IT Department. The incumbent performs functions related to computer system support to include computer hardware and software installation, troubleshooting, and repair. The Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration and availability of many critical hardware and software systems including Public Safety applications, GIS, ECM system, and many Linux based servers.
The Systems Administrator also facilitates the needs of all city employees by completing requests submitted through the IT work request system and is assigned projects or project teams.
High school graduate with A+ certification or equivalent experience required. A bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field is required. Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing 10-Key, Alphanumeric Data Entry, Other, Payroll Systems, Presentation/PowerPoint, Programming Languages are required skills.
Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver license and be insurable. This position is designated as safety/security sensitive and is subject to pre‑employment, reasonable suspicion and random drug and alcohol screening.
