This is a broad, hands-on role covering both corporate HSE management and project-level HSE across the development, construction and commissioning of utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects.
The Role You’ll act as the company’s HSE subject matter expert, working closely with senior management, project teams, EPC contractors and other stakeholders to ensure high standards of health, safety and environmental performance across the business.
A key part of the role will be acting as CSP/CSE (Coordinatore per la Sicurezza in fase di Progettazione/Esecuzione) on Italian projects where formally appointed, ensuring compliance with Italian Legislative Decree 81/2008.
Key Responsibilities Lead and continuously improve the company’s HSE management framework
Ensure compliance with Italian HSE legislation and industry best practice
Develop and maintain HSE policies, procedures, risk assessments and reporting systems
Provide HSE leadership across renewable energy projects from development through to commissioning
Monitor EPC contractor and subcontractor HSE compliance
Conduct site inspections, audits and safety reviews
Lead incident investigations and corrective actions
Identify and mitigate critical construction HSE risks
Prepare, review and manage PSC documentation
Coordinate HSE requirements between clients, designers, EPC contractors and other stakeholders
Carry out site inspections and safety coordination during project execution
Escalate and address significant HSE issues and non-compliances
What We’re Looking For Significant HSE experience within construction, infrastructure, energy or industrial projects
Proven experience supporting large-scale construction projects
Utility-scale Solar PV experience strongly preferred
Exposure to BESS and/or HV electrical infrastructure is a major advantage
Strong experience managing EPC contractors and subcontractors from an HSE perspective
Strong knowledge of Italian HSE legislation, particularly Legislative Decree 81/2008
CSP/CSE qualification compliant with Italian legislation
Experience with construction-site safety, risk assessments and incident investigations
Comfortable working autonomously within a lean, fast-moving organization
Good working knowledge of English Valid driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to project sites across Italy Discipline(s):
