29 is supporting a fast‑growing renewable energy company based in Milan to find a permitting project manager. The company is a well‑funded startup backed by a major global UK organisation, with ambitious plans to scale utility‑scale Solar PV and BESS projects across Italy. They offer very flexible hybrid working.
Responsibilities Coordinate and monitor permitting processes for photovoltaic projects, focusing on environmental and landscape aspects and managing all supporting consultancies.
Analyse relevant environmental and urban planning regulations at national and regional levels.
Conduct feasibility analyses regarding constraints/land registration based on current regulations to assess area suitability, including use of QGIS.Draft and review technical and administrative documentation for environmental practices.
Support feasibility studies and due diligence (technical, legal, environmental) for projects being acquired or developed.
After obtaining primary authorization, coordinate secondary permitting processes with local authorities, competent bodies, and other stakeholders.
Monitor and update authorization timelines, contributing to overall project planning.
Manage grid connection processes, including procedure and documentation with medium and high voltage network operators (requesting quotations, evaluating solutions, acceptance, coordination meetings).Qualifications Education in environmental and/or technical disciplines.
At least 5 years of experience managing projects, processes, and administrative procedures in the renewable energy sector.
Excellent knowledge of national and regional legislative frameworks applicable to project authorization.
Direct experience managing authorization procedures and processes (PAS, AU, EIA, EIA screening).Knowledge and experience managing secondary permitting procedures (concessions, agreements, authorizations for site preparation).Ability to interpret technical drawings.
Proficiency with major GIS tools.
Good English skills.
Willingness to travel for site visits and meetings with public bodies or third parties.
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and in a team, proactive, flexible, professional, and discreet.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft reports, documents, and presentations.
