About the role
As a Credit Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting credit risks across multiple European markets, assessing client creditworthiness, and developing tailored insurance solutions.
You will work closely with brokers and internal teams to ensure portfolio quality, compliance, and profitable growth.
Key responsibilities
Underwrite credit risks across European markets according to company risk appetite and underwriting guidelines
Evaluate clients’ creditworthiness through detailed financial and market analysis
Draft, negotiate, and approve terms and conditions for credit insurance policies
Develop and maintain broker and client relationships to expand portfolio potential
Monitor portfolio performance and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements
Stay up to date with market developments, economic trends, and regulatory updates
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (claims, finance, operations) to ensure best-in‑class service delivery
Contribute to new product development and innovation within the underwriting function
Requirements (Must have qualifications)
Minimum 2 years of experience in credit underwriting or related financial products
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a similar field
Fluency in Italian and English (additional European language is a strong plus)
Solid analytical and financial modelling skills
Knowledge of European credit insurance regulatory frameworks
Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills
Proficiency in digital tools and underwriting platforms
Nice to have
Experience in an Export Credit Agency (ECA) environment
ACII or similar professional qualification
