Product Manager

About the Role  We are seeking an Italy-based Product Development Manager – Luxury Leather Goods Hardware to support our growing portfolio of European luxury clients. As the key bridge between our Italy-based clients and China manufacturing teams, you will manage the full product development process for luxury bag hardware projects, including design interpretation, sample development, technical communication, optimisation and production handover.

The ideal candidate understands Italian luxury leather goods craftsmanship, brand requirements and hardware development processes, and can translate creative concepts into high-quality, production-ready solutions.
Responsibilities   Manage full-cycle development projects for luxury leather goods hardware, from initial design brief to final production approval.
Collaborate with luxury brand designers, product teams and China-based R&D/manufacturing teams to ensure accurate execution of design concepts.
Coordinate sample development, feedback collection, technical adjustments and approval processes.
Provide professional input on hardware structure, materials, surface finishes and production feasibility.
Support communication between European clients and China teams, ensuring efficient cross-cultural collaboration.
Follow luxury leather goods trends and hardware innovations to support product development opportunities.
Qualifications   5+ years of experience in luxury leather goods hardware, handbag accessories development or related industries.
Strong understanding of luxury bag hardware products, including locks, clasps, buckles, chains, rings and decorative hardware.
Knowledge of metal materials, precision manufacturing processes and surface finishing technologies.
Experience working with Italian or European luxury fashion brands is highly preferred.
Strong project management and client communication skills.
Fluent in English;
Mandarin is a plus.
Must be currently based in Italy.
