We are seeking a skilled Language Specialist to join our team in the Tokyo Office on a 12‑month contract basis, focusing on Spanish (Spain). In this role you will review language assets for logic, coherence, grammar, punctuation, spelling, consistency, style, usage, and formatting, helping to improve the customer streaming experience. Tasks include proofreading and editing subtitles, metadata, and other written communications.
IMPORTANT:
This is not a remote position – you must work on site in Tokyo. The role is open to Spanish applicants who will work from the Tokyo Office.
Employment Period:
Fixed‑term (12 months or longer). After the initial period, the contract may be renewed at the company's discretion based on workload, performance, and other factors. The maximum total employment period is limited to the end of the month preceding the 5th anniversary of the initial employment start date, but this does not guarantee 5 years of employment.
Key Job Responsibilities
Conduct Linguistic Quality Assurance checks on audio, subtitles, narratives, video, and artwork to ensure overall content quality.
Support the implementation of language‑related processes to ensure consistency and quality of Spanish language servicesli>
Collaborate with team members to understand language requirements and deliver quality results.
Stay current with best practices in language services, particularly related to the streaming and entertainment industry.
Contribute to the improvement of language processes and workflows.
Share knowledge and support other team members on Spanish language‑related matters.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
Native‑level proficiency in Spanish (Spain) and fluency in English.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with moderate guidance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience providing Spanish Linguistic Quality Assurance services, including translation or linguistic support.
Translation or proofreading experience in various formats, including documents and timed texts.
Interest in the media and entertainment industry, particularly streaming services.
Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
