Naturalist Expert with GIS skills  LAND Italia is seeking a Naturalist Expert with strong GIS skills to join our multidisciplinary team, contributing to applied research projects and the development of landscape consultancy services. The role focuses on monitoring the ecosystem benefits of landscape interventions and quantifying project sustainability.
Naturalist experts play a crucial role in ensuring LAND’s projects are based on solid scientific knowledge and a deep understanding of ecosystems. By integrating their expertise with GIS mapping and analysis tools, along with field survey methods, they transform complex ecological data into concrete and innovative design solutions. We value professionals who can combine naturalistic data with climate analysis — especially in urban contexts — to guide design towards resilience and sustainability.
The role is  on-site in our Milan office .

Key responsibilities:

Managing one’s own time effectively in relation to project objectives and targeted tasks;
Collecting, organizing, and analyzing ecological and environmental data integrated into landscape design, especially in urban regeneration contexts;
Producing cartographic outputs and spatial modeling within GIS environments;
Developing biodiversity monitoring methodologies and conducting multi-scale ecological assessments to evaluate the environmental impacts of landscape projects;
Supporting the preparation of sustainability reports with a focus on environmental and biodiversity indicators;
Contributing to applied research projects within European design and innovation programs.
Requirements:
Degree in Natural Sciences, Biology, Ecology, or related disciplines;
Minimum 3 years of experience in biodiversity and ecosystem monitoring and assessment;
Excellent knowledge of GIS tools and software (ArcGIS, QGIS, or equivalents);
Strong team-working skills in multidisciplinary and complex project environments;
Good command of English, both written and spoken;
Experience in landscape projects, environmental planning, or conservation
Knowledge of remote sensing and open data;
Ability to use ecological and environmental modeling tools.
