A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available in my lab () at Humanitas Research Hospital, a highly specialised research and university hospital in Rozzano (Milan).We are seeking a highly motivated post‑doc who wishes to advance her/his career in the field of cardiovascular biology. The successful candidate will be involved in the AI‑RITMIA project, recently funded by the European Commission under the EIC Pathfinder programme.
AI‑RITMIA (AI‑assisted personalized heart‑on‑chip as advanced diagnostic Tool for clinical significance assessment of Inherited cardiomyopathies) aims to develop a breakthrough AI‑guided, patient‑specific heart‑on‑chip platform to assess the pathogenicity of genetic variants in inherited cardiomyopathies. The project integrates iPSC technology, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, advanced in vitro cardiac models, and AI‑based data analysis to bridge preclinical and clinical decision‑making.
Requirements Candidates should hold a PhD in Molecular/Cellular Biology, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, or related fields, possess demonstrated experience with CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing approaches and have strong cell culture skills. Background in the cardiac biology field, previous hands‑on experience with human iPSC culture, cardiac differentiation and familiarity with cardiovascular disease modelling or functional assays will be particularly valuable. The ideal candidate is expected to have a strong motivation, curiosity and passion for scientific research, to be proactive and able to work independently, as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Good proficiency in English (especially scientific writing and oral communication skills) is also required.
What we offer
The position is a fixed‑term (TD) contract, 12 months, starting August 2026, and renewable for up to two additional years, subject to performance and funding.
