Job Overview
We're seeking a passionate and experienced Backend Software Engineer to join our growing team. You'll play a crucial role in enhancing and maintaining our existing backend software systems, while also driving the development of innovative new features and services. We value engineers who are committed to writing clean, maintainable, and scalable code, and who are eager to contribute to architectural decisions.

This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging projects and make a significant impact on our product.

This position is open to both intermediate and senior-level engineers, with responsibilities and expectations tailored to your experience.

Our current technology stack includes  Scala, Kotlin, and Elixir  for backend development. While experience with these languages is a significant advantage, we are open to considering candidates with strong backend experience in other languages.

The salary range for this position is between 40.000€ and 60.000€, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and Maintain :
Design, build, and maintain robust server-side applications, including extending and improving existing systems.

Code Excellence :
Write efficient, reusable, and well-documented code, accompanied by comprehensive automated tests.

Scalable Architecture :
Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable and resilient backend systems.

API Development :
Design and implement RESTful and Graph

QL APIs for seamless frontend-backend communication.

Database Management :
Integrate with and optimize relational databases (e.g., Postgre

SQL, MySQL) and other data sources.

Production Reliability :
Debug and resolve production issues, monitor server health, and respond to incidents promptly.

Collaboration :
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and stakeholders, to deliver high-quality solutions.

Architectural Influence :
Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technology selection decisions.

Dev Ops Practices :
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and contribute to containerization and orchestration efforts.

Qualifications & Skills:

Backend Expertise :
Proven experience as a Backend Software Engineer, with responsibilities adjusted based on experience level.

Software Design :
Solid understanding of software design patterns and architectural principles.

Cloud Experience :
Experience designing, developing, and deploying applications on cloud platforms

System Evolution :
Demonstrated ability to maintain and evolve existing backend systems while driving innovation.

Database Proficiency :
Strong experience with relational databases (e.g., Postgre

SQL, MySQL).

Dev Ops Familiarity :
Familiarity with Dev Ops practices, including containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.

Communication Skills :
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Problem Solving :
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Nice to Have:

Experience with Scala, Kotlin, or Elixir.

Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and event sourcing architectures.

Knowledge of AWS and its ecosystem.
