CMM Programmer

Metro Services is seeking to immediately fill a CMM Programmer position for a Manufacturing company in Milan, MI. This is a Contingent-to-Hire job. Apply now!

Duties for this position include:
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) specifications in accordance with ANSI Y14.5 standards
• Program and operate coordinate measuring machines (CMM) using PC-DMIS software
• Perform detailed part layouts using direct-drive CMM equipment and bench layout methods
• Compare measured results against blueprint dimensions and tolerances and report discrepancies
• Conduct process capability studies and statistical process control (SPC) activities
• Certify check fixtures and document results in the MQ1 system
• Perform dimensional gauge certification and gauge repeatability and reproducibility (R&R) studies
• Assist with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions
• Use precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and radius gauges
• Support visual inspections, quality audits, part containment, and defect identification
• Maintain quality documentation, check sheets, scrap reports, part history, and inspection records
• Follow established work instructions, quality standards, setup procedures, and tagging requirements
• Work independently while communicating quality concerns and measurement discrepancies to the Quality Manager and appropriate personnel

Compensation (USD):$35.00/hour and above depending on experience

1st Shift6:00 a.m.

- 2:00 p.m.OR7:00 a.m.

- 3:00 p.m.Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:
• Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• At least 2 years of related experience operating CMM equipment using PC-DMIS, or equivalent training and experience
• Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading in accordance with ANSI Y14.5 standards
• Experience with bench layout, dimensional inspection, and precision measuring equipment
• Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), capability studies, and gauge R&R
• Experience with gauge and fixture certification and quality documentation
• Familiarity with PPAP submissions, visual inspections, quality audits, and part containment
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to use MQ1 and QAD database systems
• Strong written and electronic communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
