Position SummaryThe Assistant Production Manager supports the Production Manager in overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of Milan Box Corporation. This role helps ensure production targets are met efficiently, safely, and within quality standards while maintaining smooth workflow across teams and departments.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, determine optimal utilization of manufacturing workers and equipment to meet manufacturing goals.
- Ensure that manufacturing stays on schedule.
- Train, evaluate manufacturing workers; monitor workers to ensure they meet performance and safety requirements.
- Help identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement, identify and utilize methods of making manufacturing process more efficient and effective (reduce waste)
- Track the movement of the products throughout the manufacturing processes.
- Participate in manufacturing meetings daily.
- Review the production report daily.
- Send the completed PO with work tickets to the front office for filing.
- Follow MBC’S policies/procedures and report any violations to Human Resources.
- Ensure accuracy of production tickets.
- Approve setup of manufacturing equipment prior to production.
- Oversee cull repair/non‑conforming process.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Perform whatever job is necessary for Milan Box Corporation to be successful.
- Military service is a plus.
- Minimum of 3‑5 years supervising, and manufacturing experience preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet. - Strong organization skills, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of military standards and specifications.
- Basic understanding of production planning, quality control, and safety procedures.
- ISO 9001:2015 experience.
- Experience with lean Six Sigma or related programs is a plus.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. periodically.
